President Donald Trump will face his biggest political test yet when he heads to the polls on Tuesday in Michigan, where the presidential race stands closer than ever, and Indiana, where turnout has been sluggish. While these two contests had been reliably red for the GOP, Trump is up by nearly 6 points in Michigan, and ahead by double digits in Indiana.
In what appears to be a final push for voter turnout, both campaigns have made an aggressive push for younger voters – Trump is reaching out to millennials, and Democrats are focused on winning over 20-and-under voters.
Both Trump and his Democratic rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are also making a concerted effort this year to turn out voters not already engaged ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
