A federal court is hearing claims that ‘Dr’ Peter Greenberg and his Echos Inc company stole millions of dollars from investors.
They say Greenberg and his firm ‘misappropriated’ the money, by using it for their own purposes, instead of investing it in club memberships and other marketing services.
Greenberg was formerly a top executive at Echos, who sold the company for a then world-record-breaking $750 million in February this year.
Now the court is considering its ruling, which could result in Greenberg and Echos being barred from continuing to trade after April 1 2019.
Greenberg and Echos have argued that they don’t deserve to be banned because they didn’t use the money for club memberships and other services – that they were simply using it for their own purposes.
