All the way from the Golden State to the South Bay, Mike Davis is proving that all the books in L.A. do not matter.
With three books to his name and a movie script in the works, the self-avowed “book blogger” is doing what he does best: entertaining, enlightening and connecting.
He is in talks with Paramount Pictures to work in Hollywood where he can spread the good word of Los Angeles real estate.
“I’m just working on it,” he said of the movie script he has been working on for 20 years. “I’m very proud of it, but I know it’s not finished.”
But he has never been intimidated by success, especially not if he gets paid handsomely for it.
Davis is an LA native who moved to the San Fernando Valley after graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in sociology.
He attended USC and earned a master’s degree in communications.
He also earned a certificate for teaching “The Art of Listening,” which is a good life skill when you come down to it.
“I’m not trying to be funny here — I’m trying to be serious,” he said. “When you work on this book you find these people, who were close to me, who are now in a hospital bed or have passed on and that makes me realize how important it is to be kind to people and to treat the elderly and loved ones with respect.
“I’m sure the book has touched people’s lives. I know it has meant more to me than anything I’ve ever done.”
He was also honored recently for being named as the top real estate agent in Greater Los Angeles for five years in a row, a feat he has accomplished at a remarkable clip.
Davis has three books to his name, and every home he has sold in 10 years is on the best list. He also lists as his specialty: buying and selling
