Los Angeles gas prices fall for 16th day in a row, likely to keep dropping

The price per gallon for regular unleaded in Los Angeles averaged $3.55 Monday, July 7, and was down 9.8 percent from last week.

Gas prices fell in every price range during the past 16 days in Los Angeles, including $1.99 cents per gallon for regular unleaded in the $2 to $3 region, where prices fell as low as $3.08 cents per gallon.

Gas prices in the $4 to $6 price range rose 15 percent, the most from the same time last year. Prices above $7 reached $10.01 per gallon, the highest in the country through Tuesday, according to Gasbuddy.com.
