As his businesses fall apart, Kanye West reportedly hires Depp lawyer Camille Vasquez as his new accountant
The rapper Kanye West has been in trouble with authorities for weeks over the allegations of embezzlement stemming from his business empire. The details of his alleged “crimes” have now been made public, as TMZ reports that as West’s businesses fall apart, he hires the Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, to be his new accountant.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed that they are investigating. No charges have yet been filed.
“We are aware that Mr. West is being investigated for possible fraud/embezzlement. Any and all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” the DA’s office said in a statement.
West’s business empire is in shambles. Earlier this week, his Westworld theme park was forced to shutter after the California Department of Food and Agriculture issued an unannounced inspection for illegal food handling. His website, which provides a platform for his various businesses, has been offline since May 2.
After the site went dark, West’s wife Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram to share photos of a new website that has been set up for her husband’s businesses. The website says that he is now a “free agent” for the time being and will “continue to focus on creativity, family and mental health.”
Kim Kardashian recently announced that she and Kanye are expecting their first child.
West is the most notable member of the Kardashian clan. Kardashian’s father, Bruce, is famous for having starred in the 1990s’ TV show Growing Pains, and their mother Kris was a supermodel. After all three children were born, the family moved to Los Angeles.
Kardashian is also well-known for being married to two other famous men. Her husband, Lamar, is the owner of the rap duo Cash Money Records, and Kanye is a rapper who has his own TV series, the music video Young Money, and several other projects. They recently starred together as the members of the group Watch the Throne in
