‘Bachelorette’s’ Emily Maynard welcomes 6th baby, shares newborn’s Down syndrome diagnosis: ‘Biggest blessing’

Emily Maynard is the perfect choice to play “love match,” as “Bachelor in Paradise” viewers are learning to love these days.

The new mom and co-star of the ABC reality series opened up about her new baby’s Down syndrome diagnosis, revealing that the world of “Love matches” is very different from the world of reality TV.

“I’ve never been in a relationship that has gone as long as mine of the cameras rolling. I’m never going to get to the other side. That’s one of the reasons I’m so, so happy about our relationship — it’s been a long, long, long one, and I’m really, really grateful for it,” Maynard said Wednesday.

“I never really thought I’d have a baby,” she added, “I was like this girl who wasn’t ready, but I was like’maybe I’m ready.'”

The 36-year-old actor is pregnant for the second time. Maynard announced on May 14 that she was expecting her first baby.

Maynard and her new baby have an extra special sibling who was born with Down syndrome.

“Being a little girl, with Down syndrome, your life is short,” Maynard said. “If it wasn’t for the support of my husband and my family, I wouldn’t be here right now. Just being in a house by myself is not a good idea.”

Maynard recently opened up about her husband, “Bachelor” alum Colton Underwood, posting an Instagram story that opened with the caption, “We’re gonna get there together, and I’m gonna tell you that I want you with me every step of the way. I love you.”

The couple has also been having fun with the new baby’s name. The couple revealed about a month ago that a little “Hail and Ooh” was the choice for their baby’s name.

Maynard opened up about the pregnancy on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” revealing that she is due to give birth to her
