‘I can’t keep fighting the system’: DACA recipients are leaving the U.S., disheartened by years of instability

But after a court order went against them, DACA was terminated and their status is being cancelled because they do not have legal status. Their lives have been turned upside-down, and they are now stranded in the U.S

The young people of DACA who had received protection from deportation after the President Barack Obama, passed executive order in 2012 were due to be granted permanent residency beginning in January. Their status was to provide protection, enabling them to live in the U.S. if their parents and grandparents were not able to do so. And they were prepared to wait if their parents could not be found. But after a court order went against them, DACA was terminated and their status is being cancelled because they do not have legal status. Their lives have been turned upside-down, and they are now stranded in the U.S. For many of them, life has been turned upside-down.
